Meet Our Team

Our world-class team is committed to the Valor Recovery mission of helping men transcend sexual compulsivity and live a life of purpose, integrity and love.

Steven Wolt, Founder & CEO

Steve is an influential healthcare entrepreneur with a passion for breaking down barriers. He has helped countless others find healing and recovery from mental health challenges and addictions.

The mission at Valor Recovery is deeply personal to Steve given his recovery from sex and porn addiction. Courage and vulnerability have been his guiding light inspiring others to overcome shame and stigma to get the help they need.

Steve was the past President of Freedom Institute, a prestigious, non-profit, outpatient treatment and recovery center located in Manhattan NY, founded in 1976. He was also co-founder and CEO of Veritus; the nation's first tele-health, intensive, outpatient treatment program for licensed professionals struggling with substance use disorders and mental health.

Steve is a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) and a member of the International Coaching Federation.

Before transitioning to behavioral health, Steve had a successful career working in financial services.  Steve enjoys biking and hiking with his wife, Jennifer and dogs, Henry and Quincy.

Ian Sears, Coach

Ian has has been in recovery for 30 years and has been in the trenches, shoulder to shoulder with fellow sex addicts from all walks of life. He has witnessed countless examples of men reclaiming their lives from what seemed to be an irreparable brokenness. He considers it an honor and a privilege.

In addition to his decades of real world recovery experience, he is a certified meditation teacher and offers a wide variety of meditation techniques as an additional tool to help recovering addicts develop a happy relationship with the present tense.

For twenty-five years, he was also a TV editor for which he was nominated for an Emmy.

For fun: tending to his fruit trees, traveling to France, meditation retreats with his wife, finding novel ways to use lemon zest in his cooking, reading about spiritual adventures.

His favorite Rumi poem:

Sit still and be quiet
Because you’re drunk
And we’re at the edge of the roof

In addition, Ron is an entrepreneurial executive leadership coach who partners with leaders, teams, and individuals to uncover opportunities for growth, navigate challenges, and create transformational change in leadership, organizational engagement, and personal development.
